Electrician Resume Example
A mid-level commercial electrician in Austin, nine years in the trade, licensed journeyman since 2021 and now running a four-person crew.
A fictional resume written by our team. The person, employers and numbers are invented; the tools, licenses and schools are real.
Why it works
- 1
“Texas journeyman electrician (TDLR, 2021), 9 years in the trade, mostly commercial fit-outs and plant work to NEC 2023. Run a 4-person crew with a 96% first-time inspection pass rate and no recordables since 2021.”
License, state and year come in the first five words, then the type of work and the code edition. That is the whole screening checklist a foreman runs.
- 2
“Led a 4-person crew on a 1,200A service and distribution install for a 38,000 sq ft clinic, passed first inspection”
Gives amperage, square footage and crew size, so the reader can see the scale of the job instead of guessing what 'commercial' means.
- 3
“Wired 22 tenant fit-outs from 3,000 to 40,000 sq ft with a 96% first-time pass rate across 61 city inspections”
An inspection pass rate is the closest thing this trade has to a quality score. Giving the count behind it (61) makes the percentage believable.
- 4
“Cut VFD faults on a 480V packaging line from 9 a month to 1 by reworking motor control grounding and shielding”
Before and after numbers on a real fault. It also uses plant vocabulary (480V, VFD, motor controls) that an industrial hiring manager scans for.
- 5
“Logged 4,800 field hours since 2023 with zero recordables, and wrote 11 change orders that billed $46,000”
Safety and money in one line. Change orders show the electrician understands the contractor's side of the job, which matters for a lead role.
How it scored
We ran this example through the same free roast you can use, three times, and kept the middle result. The roast ranks a resume against a typical applicant pile and grades hard: even a resume with a number in nearly every bullet usually lands in the B range.

Use it as a skeleton, then replace every line with your own work. A copied bullet with someone else's numbers is the fastest way to fail an interview question.
