What gets checked
Five categories, scored out of ten, the same for every resume. The letter grade comes from those scores, not from a mood.
First impression
What the top of the page says about your level and your field before anyone reads a bullet.
Experience
Whether each bullet describes a result or a duty, and how many carry a number. Counted, not guessed.
Buzzword density
A 0-100 score for how much of the text is filler, with the worst phrases quoted back to you.
Skills section
What to cut (Microsoft Office, team player), what is missing, and whether the list is doing any work.
Formatting
Layout, scannability, and the things that trip resume parsers: tables, columns, text boxes.
Two interview questions
The two questions a recruiter would most likely ask you, drawn from your own resume. Free.
A checker that reads the writing
A keyword count can tell you a word is missing. It cannot tell you that your best accomplishment is buried in bullet four under a weak verb.
A typical checker
- Counts keywords and sections
- Gives a percentage with no line attached to it
- Shows part of the result, then asks for an account or a card
- Says “add more action verbs”
This one
- Reads every bullet and quotes the weak ones
- Grades on a fixed rubric, so the grade means the same thing on Tuesday as it did on Monday
- Shows the whole result, free, no account
- Says which line, what is wrong with it, and what a better version looks like

After the check
The grade tells you where you stand. These three take it from there, all free.

The seniority your bullets actually support, and where it disagrees with your title.
Resume checker questions
Is the resume checker actually free?
Yes, the whole result: the letter grade, the five category scores, the Buzzword Density Score with the worst phrases quoted, the written feedback, and two interview questions drawn from your resume. There is no account and no trial. The only paid things on the site are optional one-time rewrites ($4.99 or $9.99).
What does it check?
Five things, the same five for every resume: the first impression a reader gets from the top of the page, whether your bullets show results or list duties, how much of the text is filler, whether the skills section says anything, and formatting. Each gets a score out of ten, and the letter grade is worked out from those scores in code, so it means the same thing for everyone.
How is this different from a resume score tool?
Most checkers count things: keywords present, sections present, page length. This one reads the writing. It quotes the lines that are weak and says why, in plain English, with some teeth. A score tells you that something is wrong; a quoted line tells you what to fix.
Does it check whether my resume will pass an ATS?
Partly. It flags the formatting problems that trip parsers (tables, columns, text boxes, contact details in the header). For the other half of an ATS check, matching the posting's keywords, use the free Job Match tool: paste your resume and the job description and it lists the terms the posting asks for that your resume doesn't show.
Can it check a PDF or a Word file?
Yes. Paste the text, upload a PDF or a .docx, or take a photo of a printed copy. A text-based PDF gives the cleanest read.
What happens to my resume?
The text is used to produce the result, kept for 24 hours in case you want a rewrite, then deleted. The result itself lives at a private link for seven days. Nothing is sold, shared or used to train anything.
