Data Engineer Resume Bullet Points

17 examples, each shown weak and strong

A strong data engineering bullet names the data, its volume and who relies on it, then shows what got faster, cheaper or more reliable. Hiring managers read past the tool list for scale, tests, freshness SLAs and cost, so put those next to the pipeline you built.

How to use these

  • Every [X%], [N] and [$X] is a blank for your own figure. Fill it from your records, or a careful estimate you could explain in an interview. If you have no number, describe the result in words.
  • Only use a bullet for work you actually did. Change the details until it describes your job, not this page.
  • The ticks are three plain checks done in code: it opens with an action verb, it has a number, and it says what changed. Strong bullets pass all three; weak ones miss at least one.

    • โœ“ Action verb
    • โœ“ Number
    • โœ“ Result

Warehouse cost and performance

Warehouse spend is a constant pain, and a bullet that cut compute or runtime while keeping the numbers correct is easy to value.

  • Weak

Optimized Snowflake queries for better performance.

    • โœ“ Action verb
    • โœ— Number
    • โœ— Result

    Strong

Lowered monthly Snowflake spend by [$X] by right-sizing [N] virtual warehouses, setting auto-suspend and clustering the [N] largest tables, with no change to dashboard results.
