How do I describe modeling work without breaching confidentiality?
Describe the structure and the scale, not the figures. 'Three-statement model for a mid-nine-figure acquisition' is descriptive and gives away nothing. Finance reviewers are used to this and expect it.
Does 'advanced Excel' mean anything on a finance resume?
On its own, no. Name what you actually build: INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP across linked workbooks, Power Query transformations, VBA automations, whatever it is. Specificity is the only version of this claim that carries weight.
